You have probably heard of the thyroid glad before. However, chances are that you do not know where it is or what it does. The thyroid glad is a small, butterfly shaped gland located in your neck, just above the collarbone. The primary purpose of the thyroid gland is to produce hormones. Specifically, thyroid hormones help to regulate many of the activities in your body, including how fast you burn calories and how fast your heart beats.

Unfortunately, sometimes our thyroid can malfunction.
