Protect Yourself From Radiation With an EMF Blocker
You might think that your home is the safest place you can be, but when it comes to exposure to radiation, it might be one of the most dangerous. Your home — and your workplace — has a number of appliances and devices that emit electromagnetic radiation, in many cases at levels that can be harmful to you and your loved ones.
For example, think of wireless phones, which have pretty much become ubiquitous in homes around the world. You probably use your wireless phone at most a few hours a day, but it emits radiation 24 hours a day, even when not in use. Using a laptop computer in your house with wireless Internet sounds harmless, right? Well, according to 2012 study, it only takes about four hours of exposure to a laptop with wireless Internet to lead to decreased sperm viability in men. Small appliances in your home such as your microwave also emit EMF. Even compact fluorescent lightbulbs emit small amounts, operating in the range of 50 to 100 kHz. So essentially, you can’t get away from such radiation unless you live in a shack in the wilderness with no modern conveniences.
There are ways to protect yourself, though. You can use an EMF blocker, also called EMF shielding. EMF blockers are made out of some type of metal and provide EMF protection by blocking electromagnetic rays. Many devices and appliances have their own EMF shielding in the form of metallic ink that is coated on the insides of their cases. However, you really have no way to know whether the device you are using has such shielding or not, so it may make sense to use your own.
You can buy EMF blockers for a number of devices. There are commercial shields available for laptops, tablets, wireless phones and other devices. For pregnant women, who can be particularly susceptible to EMF waves, there is even special clothing available that can help shield the developing baby.
If EMF blockers aren’t practical, there are other tips you can follow to reduce your EMF exposure. Keeping your distance as much as possible from devices that emit EMF waves is one way. There also are several ways you can reduce EMF exposure from your wireless phone, including texting instead of calling, using speakerphone and turning the phone on airplane mode whenever it is not in use.
